The container ship Mumbai Maersk ran aground off the coast of the German Wadden island of Wangerooge on Wednesday night. Five tugs try to free the 399 meter long ship. A first attempt failed.
A second attempt will follow on Thursday at noon, reports radio and te station NDR . The ship was on its way from Rotterdam to Bremerhaven. When it ran aground at the Weser estuary, it had a draft of 13 metres. The four-year-old ship sails under the Danish flag.
