Three men aged 22, 27 and 29 were arrested on Sunday night after a major fight in a café on Havenweg in Helmond. The suspects, all from Helmond, hit and kicked a woman, including in the head. The outbreak of violence was captured by a camera in the café, the images were shared on the video website Dumpert.
According to the police, it is still unclear what caused the fire to ignite shortly after midnight on Sunday. The police do not want to say what the mutual relationships are. The brawl lasted several minutes. Striking blows were exchanged back and forth.
On the images Dumpert you can see how, seemingly out of nowhere, a woman is hit in the head with a fist by one of the men. The woman remains on the ground while a group of about five people continue to beat each other. A short time later, a man also falls to the ground and is hit hard on the head several times.
Bar stools and candle holders
Other café visitors seek refuge further into the shop. In the meantime, the troublemakers continue as usual: bar stools are hit and glass candle holders are thrown.
The massive brawl lasts exactly one minute, as can be seen by the date and time in the top left of the screen. When everyone has stood up, one of the troublemakers takes their coats. For a moment it seems to be over, but with the jacket in his hand he hits a woman hard on the head with his fist again.
Heat the pan again
The woman remains on the ground for a long time and three men appear to leave the business, but then things start to escalate again. They are hit again, including with a bar stool.
When the fighters are finally outside, the door is locked. Outside, the pushing and pulling continues for a while, then the men disappear from view.
Men released
The suspects were released on Tuesday, but remain suspects. “Ultimately, a file will be drawn up from the investigation and sent to the Public Prosecution Service. It will then be further determined how and for what the men must answer,” a police spokesperson said.
