Attacker András Németh leaves Hamburg’s SV permanently and returned to his homeland in Hungary. As the Hanseatic League announced on Wednesday, the 22-year-old joins the first division club Puskás Akadémia FC. Németh was active for the second division competitor Prussia Münster in the past season, but was not able to play in 21 and at 1,051 minutes. In addition, he was not in the squad in the second half of the season due to injury.

Németh switched from the KRC Genk from Belgium to HSV for 750,000 euros in January 2023 and was recommended directly with two jokerors in its early days. After that, the center forward no longer brought the ball over the goal line – last time Németh was able to cheer on his own goal on February 11, 2023 in Heidenheim. The offensive man, born in Cape Town (South Africa), had no future on the Elbe, which is why a transfer for all parties makes sense.

“We have agreed in joint discussions that this is the best option for the HSV and András,” said HSV director Sport Claus Costa. “We wish Andras all the best and good luck for his future.” Németh last played in Hungary in 2015/16 before moving to Belgium into the Hasselt Jugend and later into the offspring of the Krc Genk.
