Open for HSV extension

Striker Ransford Königsdörffer himself took a stand a few days after his broken change from Hamburger SV to the OGC Nice OGC and was surprised at the establishment of the cancellation of the French first division club. “I wanted to take the chance to play football abroad. I didn’t get to a denominator with OGC. I don’t know what you found. Maybe you have fallen in love,” said the 23-year-old of the “Bild” in the HSV training camp in Mallorca.

According to Königsdörffer’s medical check, Nice had registered “health concerns” in the red pants and dissolved the agreement of over 6 million euros. “We did not expect this development, especially on the fact that Ransi only missed two games with muscular problems in his three-year contract term at HSV,” said HSV sports director Stefan Kuntz.

Königsdörffer himself has also been surprised, but feels flattered that “a top European club is interested in me. But I have to accept their opinion.” The fast attacker had a large part in the promotion of Hamburg with 14 goals last season. He came to HSV from Dynamo Dresden in 2022. In Nice, the opportunity seemed to be able to cede Königsdörffer for the market value. The fact that this happens after the summer transfer window is very unlikely at least according to the current contract.

The working paper of the Berlin native runs until 2026. The club could not yet agree on a new contract with the player. Königsdörffer now opened the door for this. Although he continued to change with a similar offer (“You never know what happens in football”), emphasized: “I am here at the HSV, I will be stepping. I am still open to extend here.”
