Hamburger SV is one of the largest clubs in Germany. The news ticker on t-online contains all the important reports about the “Rothosen”.
The Hamburger SV has announced that several key players will be missing from Sunday’s game against VfB Stuttgart. Defender Daniel Elfadli is unavailable for action due to an adductor injury, as coach Merlin Polzin explained. Captain Yussuf Poulsen and defender Warmed Omari are also out.
Polzin said Poulsen is expected to return to action next week. The coach also praised VfB Stuttgart’s development since the 2023 relegation game and described the upcoming game as a “cool task”. The HSV have not won in their last five league games and could slip into the relegation zone if they lose.
A fan demonstration will take place before HSV’s home game on Sunday against VfB Stuttgart (3:30 p.m./Dazn). It is a protest by the organized fan scene to protest against possible measures by the Conference of Interior Ministers next week. Some fans fear the introduction of personalized tickets, collective punishments or stadium bans on suspicion.
The Nordtribüne support group announced on its Instagram page on Friday: “We call on all HSV fans to join us and demonstrate with us for fan culture and against the IMK’s populism. Together we will show what football is like: safe, colorful, free.”
HSV supported the call for demonstration. The club announced on Platform X: “Peaceful protest is an important expression of democratic and visible values. For a lively fan culture.”
Because of the pyrotechnics of his fans in the derby against FC St Pauli Hamburger SV was sentenced to a fine of 118,000 euros. The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) assessed the supporters’ behavior as unsportsmanlike and initiated appropriate consequences.
The HSV can use 39,000 euros of the sum for security or violence prevention measures, as the DFB announced. The city derby took place on August 29th in Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion – an explosive game that FC St. Pauli won 2-0.
