The investor Klaus-Michael Kühne wants to sell 7.5 percent of his shares at Hamburger SV. The 88-year-old confirmed a corresponding report by the “Bild” newspaper to the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, but there was still a final agreement. “There are discussions about share sales and a re-investment, but they are by no means complete,” Kühne is quoted.

The potential buyer was not mentioned by name, but should already be active in the area of the HSV. Negotiations have been going on for months, the report says. The Hamburg billionaire and entrepreneur Kühne has so far owned around 21 percent of the shares. The majority at the KGAA (limited partnership on shares) still has HSV EV with more than 70 percent.

Kühne had recently sold 5.11 percent of his shares to the former HSV board member Thomas Wüstefeld in October 2021. A year later, there was a big dispute between the two due to the purchase price of 14 million euros. In the meantime, Wüstefeld no longer has its shares, the 56-year-old sold them to the main sponsor Hansemerkur.
