HPK’s Eetu Liukas too slippery for Tappara

The most surprising result of the six-game league round came from Tampere, where HPK caused Tappara’s first home defeat of the season.

– The first set was good from us, and a 2–0 lead against Tappara on the road is pretty much the best you can ask for, HPK’s Eetu Liukas said in an interview with C More.

It was Liukas who was responsible for the club’s new arrival with two handsome hits, the latter of which sealed a 4-3 away win in overtime.

The addition of TPS is one of HPK’s reinforcements this season.

– The environment has been exactly as I expected and maybe a little more. I think we’ve gotten off to a good start, and maybe I fit into this team too, said the 19-year-old attacker, known for his physical style of play.

Assisted both of his goals Michael Joly got up Ilves Petri Kontiolan with to the top of the Liiga point exchange. Both have 2+4 results from four matches.

Star singer Mikael Juha Tapionson, 20, opened his points account in the League with an assist for HPK’s 3–3 draw.

Tappara’s most efficient player was the one who registered an assist out of all three goals of the team Jori Lehterä. He also rose to six points (0+6).

The first season of the reigning champion had a bumpy ride when they suffered another loss in a row.

In the league table, HPK passed Tappara with eight points. It finished fourth and tied with Kärppi and KooKoo ahead of them. Tappara has a point less and fifth place.

Lynx leads

Ilves, another team from Tampere, continues at the top of the table with 11 points – although they suffered their first point loss of the season in Pori, when Ässät only bowed out after some hard work with 3-2 goals.

The winning goal was completed by the 18-year-old striker Jani Nymanwho also managed to score the opening goal of his league career in the first half.

In the other matches, Jukurit took their opening point of the season with a 3–1 win over Luko, Pelicans won 2–1 over SaiPa through the winning goal race, TPS defeated JYP away 4–1 and Kärpät did the same trick for Sport with the same numbers.
