Scott Weiland, ex-singer of grunge band Stone Temple Pilots and supergroup Velvet Revolver, died on December 3, 2015 at the age of 48 from an accidental drug overdose. During his lifetime, he recorded not only rock music, but also Christmas carols. He gathered them together in 2011 on his third solo album THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR. One of the outtakes from that time can now be heard: Weiland covered “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” by John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

Weiland’s version of “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” will soon also be officially available: On November 4th, an extended reissue of THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR will be released on differently colored vinyl, which will also feature his renditions of “White Christmas “, “Silent Night” and “Winter Wonderland” should be found.

Weiland’s autobiography Not Dead & Not For Sale was also published in 2011. In 2021 it was said that it should be adapted for a film called “Paper Heart”. Among other things, it should be about Weiland’s life, his addiction problems and his comebacks or comeback attempts.
