If the necessary permits are obtained, Dilsen-Stokkem will have a battery park of 200 sea containers with gigantic batteries in them, which will collect electricity if too much is produced, and release electricity if there is a shortage. The site can store 20 megawatts, enough to power 500,000 families for four hours. But is that enough to bridge harsh winters? And what good is batteries if you cannot generate green energy?
