How many more years does he want to play?

At 37, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the oldest outfield players in Europe’s top leagues. But the Portuguese is by no means thinking about retiring. He wants to continue for a few more seasons.

Cristiano Ronaldo has played over 1,100 competitive games. For Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus Turin, Sporting Lisbon and Portugal. He’s won almost every title he could have won. And at the age of 37 he is about to end his career – you might think so. But Ronaldo thinks differently. In an interview with DAZN he said: “I know I don’t have many more years to play, four or five more. We’ll see, and I want to win more titles.”

In addition, the scorer reported on changes in his game: “You have to be intelligent and know that you are not the same at 18, 20 or 25 as you were at 35. That is the maturity, the experience, the intelligence to understand that you maybe lose some things to gain others and have a balance to play at the highest level.”

He definitely doesn’t think about the end of his career: “I don’t have to tell you that I’m very good because the numbers are there. The facts are facts, the rest doesn’t matter at all. It doesn’t matter at all.”

“I’m still scoring goals”

This season’s figures mean 15 goals and 7 assists in 30 games for Manchester United. At the “Red Devils” he is one of the regulars under coach Ralf Rangnick, even if Ronaldo is not necessarily the perfect striker for the intensive game with high pressing.

For the 2016 European champions, however, the situation is clear: “I’m still scoring goals, helping people, teams, both in the national team and at Manchester United, and that’s why I want to continue like this.”
