How is Nicole de Moor, the new cd&v-staatssecretaris voor Asiel en Migration? Inhoudelijk a topper, zoveel is duidelijk. En verder? ‘We from the hair eerder left.’
Het zelden vor, maar in de coulissen van de Wetstraat is haast iedereen het over éen thing waner het over Nicole de Moor gaat. De bijnaam ‘warm Thatcher’, hair maandag toebedeeld door de nieuwe cd&v-voorzitter Sammy Mahdi: weg ermee, aub. The bijnaam zegt eerder iets over de richting the Mahdi uit wil met zijn partij, on gegeneerd conservatief, dan dat hij ons iets vertelt over De Moor – de kabinett van Mahdi die nu een plek opschuift in de rangorde.
“Ik zou Nicole nooit omschrijven as a warm Thatcher, no. I have no problem with that for Thatcher and that toe birds ‘warm’ make it not good for me,” laughs Kris Peeters, who has been cd&v vice premier in de Regering-Michel for four years. “Nicole is op my cabinet started as a migration specialist.
