How disturbing is the Bellingham vortex, Mr. Terzic?

Borussia Dortmund welcomes Borussia Mönchengladbach to their home stadium on Saturday evening (6:30 p.m.). In the title fight with FC Bayern, who will face FC Schalke 04 in the afternoon, BVB will have to step up their game again. Coach Edin Terzic will answer questions in advance on Thursday.

sport.de accompanies the press conference with the BVB head coach 12:30 pm in the detailed live blog.

+++ Were the Sammer statements surprising to you? +++

I noticed that casually because I tuned in on time for kick-off. I appreciate Matthias very much and we exchange ideas. There is nobody who knows the team better than me. I’m very happy with how Jude is preparing for the games here in training. He’s very professional, very mature – and we’re talking about a 19-year-old here. We care about the sport and don’t let ourselves be distracted.

+++ Are you watching the Bayern game? +++

We will meet in the morning to have a standard session. Then we go for a walk together, have our final meeting and go to the stadium. Of course, one or the other will get a push message. But we won’t do anything crazy and make sure we win our own game.

+++ Schlotterbeck moves back into the first eleven? +++

Nico Schlotterbeck is always a candidate for the starting XI if he is fit. Of course, the other two have now done exceptionally well. This is the situation every coach is happy about.

+++ Is the internal competition even bigger now? +++

Our situation yesterday reminded me a bit of the pre-season yesterday because we had 26 players available. Of course that can lead to frustration because I have to let eight players out. But we have a common goal. You can tell everyone would love to be there. The intensity and the quality of the training are very satisfactory.

+++ Gladbach’s season treacherous for BVB? +++

It’s not interesting to me at all. Because there is so much at stake for us. I’m sure everyone in the Gladbach jersey is keen to win.

+++ How do you keep the flow going? +++

The game didn’t start with a flow, we played our way into it. We had a very intense session yesterday, today we’re regenerating a bit. We want to do everything to defend our goal. Afterwards it looks as if the opponent made it easy for us. But it wasn’t like that, Wolfsburg were in a good mood and they had the quality to come back. We know how difficult it will be against Gladbach. We remember the first leg where we started well but then fell behind. We want to be there from the first minute.

+++ Why is BVB so weak away from home? +++

We haven’t been able to win away from home in the last three Bundesliga games, and most of the time we haven’t gone through with it. We had the impression that we didn’t build up any pressure in the derby or in Bochum. But we missed taking the lead with a goal. It’s hard for us. Thank God we have a home game on Saturday.

+++ What about the BVB staff? +++

Jamie is the only player who will definitely be out. He fell on his shoulder in training last week after PK. Unfortunately he had to have an operation, the operation went well yesterday. We hope he comes back stronger. Unfortunately it had hit him once before on the other shoulder. He will not be available to us in the coming weeks and months.

+++ It’s about to start +++

In a few minutes coach Edin Terzic takes his place on the podium. The BVB match day press conference will start shortly.

+++ Vortex about Jude Bellingham at BVB +++

Jude Bellingham, who scored twice again in the 6-0 thrashing of VfL Wolfsburg, is dominating the headlines about Borussia Dortmund just a few weeks before the end of the season. The young Englishman has been associated with a change for months, with Real Madrid and Manchester City being traded particularly hot.

Statements by BVB advisor Matthias Sammer that the 19-year-old would “at least get a better upbringing than in Dortmund” at a club like Real Madrid had certainly caused astonishment.

Bellingham’s short trip to England earlier in the week also made headlines. While he apparently only wanted to watch one of his younger brother Jobe’s games at the stadium, there may have been a meeting with his father and agent Mark Bellingham to explore a summer move in more detail.

As the Italian transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano has now announced again, Jude Bellingham has allegedly already agreed to a contract offer from Real Madrid.

+++ BVB has to do without Bynoe-Gittens +++

What does Edin Terzic’s staff look like against Gladbach? The head coach will have to do without attacker Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, whose season ended due to further problems with his shoulder. The failures of the full-backs Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey are also certain.

+++ Borussia Dortmund wants revenge against Gladbach +++

The 15th match day was something like one of the low points of this season for BVB. The Terzic team lost 2:4 (2:3) in Gladbach and were sixth in the table after the long World Cup-related break. From the nine points behind FC Bayern, only one remained with three games to go – so the championship race is exciting again.
