No fewer than twelve bullet holes can be seen at the front of the house in Den Bosch that was shot at on Wednesday evening. Shots were also fired at the house at the back; four bullet holes are visible there. The neighborhood reacts shocked: “It is actually unreal that this is happening here in Empel,” responds a woman who lives in the street.
Just before midnight, explosions rang out at the Breeakkers in the Empel district of Den Bosch. A local woman walks her dog on Thursday morning and still can’t quite believe it.
“It’s such a quiet village here.” Her dog started barking in the hallway Wednesday evening. “He sensed trouble. I looked out the window and saw a bunch of boys getting out of a white van. They went into the street here. Suddenly there were lots of bangs.”
The woman thought it was fireworks, but it turned out to be gunshots. “It was really a noise, I was shocked.”
There are several perpetrators involved. According to people in the street, it involved six or seven young guys who targeted the front and back of the house.
They drove away in several vehicles without lights, including a white van. The residents of the house would not have been at home, several residents in the street said.
A woman lives near the house that was shot at. She heard a lot of noise. “I was very shocked, there were a lot of shots.” The woman actually thought it was two opposing groups trying to fight something out. “I didn’t expect it to be two doors down.”
She knows the residents well, a family with children lives in the house and a beauty salon is located at the address. “They are very nice neighbors, we really don’t understand it. We don’t know what is going on.” According to the woman, the neighbors are always very quiet. “We have very normal contact with each other.”
On Thursday morning the local police officer walks around the neighborhood. She cannot say anything about the case yet. “The investigation is still ongoing.”
