“House Of The Dragon”: Matt Smith reveals the start date of the second season

According to the actor, the “Game Of Thrones” prequel will continue in August.

Actor Matt Smith has apparently revealed when “House Of The Dragon” will continue. Smith, who plays the role of Daemon Targaryen, spoke on the radio show “The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show” about the “Game Of Thrones” prequel.

“House Of The Dragon”: Will it continue in August?

A first teaser for the second season of “House Of The Dragon” appeared in November 2023. At that time it was said that the new episodes would run from early summer 2024. There was no fixed date. Now, however, Matt Smith has narrowed this down. When the presenter asked when the next season would come, he replied: “August, I think… this summer, yes.”

He also shared insights into working on the series itself. “I haven’t seen anything about it, but we finished it last year,” he said. However, production is not quite finished yet. Smith said: “We still have to do the Additional Dialogue Recording and stuff like that.”

George RR Martin looks to the future

With the second season, that’s not supposed to be it for the spin-off. Last month, George RR Martin, whose book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” is based on the series “Game Of Thrones” and “House Of The Dragon”, said that a third and fourth season were already in the works. During a visit to London, the author spoke to showrunner Ryan Condal and screenwriters about continuing the series. “We locked ourselves in a room for two days,” he said, describing intensive work in one Blog post. “There were lively, fun discussions and we got a lot done… even if two days wasn’t nearly enough. There’s so much to do that twenty days probably wouldn’t have been enough.”
