According to research, there is room to build a new building for a theater, a library, the IVAK and a town hall on Molenbergplein in Delfzijl.
There are also sufficient financial options. The plan will be discussed in the municipal council on February 28.
The plan was also discussed by the municipal council a year ago. Initially it caused pause and reconsideration. At the same time, the decision was made to investigate the possibilities of central housing for the municipality of Eemsdelta.
Officials now work from three locations
Civil servants currently still work from three town halls and a large number of other locations. In addition, there is a great need to provide new accommodation for the Molenberg theater and the library.
The residents of the municipality are involved in the further development of the plan for the so-called ‘House of Culture and Administration’.
