During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday around 4.30 am, a shooting incident took place in the Hoornwerk in Menen. A house was shot at from the street. The suspects fled shortly after the incident. There were no injuries or deaths. But some local residents were awakened by the commotion
“There was a shooting here last night,” said a local resident. “It was like a machine gun. Branch, branch, branch… I heard a car turn on full throttle. That’s all I can say. That has to do with drugs and slander. There is no other way, in my opinion.”
The public prosecutor’s office has since opened an investigation. “The laboratory and a weapons expert have been appointed and arrived on site to make the first findings,” the public prosecutor’s office said. “The circumstances and reason for the incident are still unclear. The investigation is now continuing.”
