A remarkable viewer this afternoon at Drenthina in Emmen. A large brown horse suddenly came up the football fields. “I received the video and thought: huh? That’s weird when a horse runs over the site,” laughs Drenthina chairman Frank Griemink.
“It wasn’t a small horse either. It was remarkable,” he says with a sense of understatement.
Griemink does not know from whom the horse is. “Such an animal can run a lot, it came from the forest near the Emmerdennen. So I expect the horse from Weerdinge or something.”
The owner of the missing horse has still not reported. “Maybe he comes home and looks into the meadow. Let’s hope he is reading the news,” Griemink points out that both RTV Drenthe and Dagblad van het Noorden have already called him.
A neighbor of Drenthina managed to get the horse safely from the football fields. “Next to us is a kind of storage for horses, close to our site,” the chairman explains. “One of the spectators had already walked there. The horse also stopped quietly, so the neighbor could take him and put him in the meadow.”
All in all, they can laugh about it at Drenthina, especially because nobody – spectators and/or horse – were injured. “He went on an adventure on Dierendag,” concludes Griemink.
