Horrorklusser Nicky H. (33) from Waalwijk has received 24 months in prison, six of which were conditional for lighting up dozens of customers. The court in Breda ruled on Tuesday. H. made dozens of DIY appointments but did his job partly or not at all. All advances merged with his drug addiction.

The court ruled that Nicky ‘never had the intention of doing the agreed jobs’. He kept the advances for himself. To disguise that, he raised a smokescreen by using false names and names of existing companies. H. did this for three years.

According to the court, he was sophisticated. According to the court, quite a bit of organization was needed for that. Names, company names, numbers of the Chamber of Commerce, addresses, telephone numbers and other people’s bank accounts. The court therefore does not believe that due to his drug addiction, H. did not know what he was doing.

A few years ago, Nicky H. was a well-known Dutchman scammed by the TV program, in which his scam activities were extensively discussed.

From a hundred to thousands of euros into the ship
Two weeks ago, 11 out of 53 people who wanted to compensate for their damage were in court. Of the 53 charges, the court considered 38 proven. They all went into the ship for an average of a few hundred euros to a few thousand euros.

The scams played mainly in Brabant: Tilburg, Waalwijk, Oosterhout, Dussen, Den Bosch, Kaatsheuvel, Dongen, Etten-Leur, Raamsdonksveer, Wouw, Waspik, Sprang-Capelle, Bergen op Zoom and much more. But Nicky was also active outside of Brabant between 2018 and 2021.

Nicky often lifted on the names of existing companies or handymen. For example, countless DIY companies such as Maintenance Company Martien Scheppers, Klusbedrijf Roels, AS Schilderwerken and VOS Total maintenance were all the same person: Nicky H. Many of these companies and people also reported H. because of their good name.

Urine controls and compensation
In addition to the imprisonment of 24 months, of which six months conditional, Nicky must have urine controls done during his probationary period of three years. He is no longer allowed to use drugs. In addition, he must pay compensation to his victims.

And after this lawsuit Nicky H. does not seem to be ready yet. In the meantime a new case with seventeen declarations is running and ten other declarations are being looked at. The day before this lawsuit came in another declaration, which dates from the turn of the year.
