Hoogkarspelse football club is going to collaborate with AZ to raise North Holland level

Football club Spirit signed a cooperation agreement this weekend with Eredivisie club AZ from Alkmaar. Both clubs have announced this on their website. SC Spirit ’30 becomes a partner in the AZ Football School, just like other amateur associations from the rest of the province. Through this collaboration, the clubs hope to raise the football level in North Holland to a higher level.

Ard Aker, the head of the youth academy of SC Spirit ’30, is enthusiastic about the intensification of the collaboration with AZ. “In recent years, we have invariably supplied youth players for the AZ Football School in the region, so the contact was already there,” Aker explains.

“Initially we wanted to organize a clinic with AZ for our youth trainers, and during those conversations the collaboration was discussed. We were immediately very enthusiastic about that,” continues the head of the youth academy of the Hoogkarspel football association.

Selection days

The football association from Hoogkarspel already worked together with the current number five in the Eredivisie, and the Spirit complex would rather be used for one of the AZ Selection Days. This has not been possible in recent years due to the corona pandemic.

However, this year the clubs have found a suitable date. In May, scouts from the Alkmaar association will come to Hoogkarspel to assess the youth players and perhaps give them a place in the youth academy of the Eredivisie club.
