Hoogevener not prosecuted for attempted murder at a farmer’s protest

The 23-year-old man from Hoogeveen, who was arrested last night at the Holsloot junction on suspicion of attempted murder, is not yet being prosecuted for this. That is what the Public Prosecution Service (OM) has announced.

The Public Prosecution Service does suspect him of threatening and causing danger on the road. The man was arrested by the police yesterday for allegedly hitting the police with his tractor. The police spoke of attempted murder. But according to the Public Prosecution Service, on the basis of the documents, the judiciary cannot for the time being determine that it is indeed an attempted manslaughter.

De Hoogevener has been released, but remains a suspect. The investigation into the possible threat and dangerous driving continues.

In addition to the 23-year-old man from Hoogeveen, a 49-year-old man from Emmen was also arrested. He was arrested for ignoring a police order and for driving under the influence.
