How many people come per day? And how is the nuisance limited? Entrepreneurs and local residents of the Grote Kerkstraat in Hoogeveen are concerned about the arrival of a coffee shop. Today they were able to talk to the owners for the first time.
The Herman Bavinckhuis along Stoekeplein was full this morning. Each chair was occupied and that had a reason: Rob Bosma and his two sons Bodhi and Rishi presented themselves as the brand new owners of the coffee shop.
Together the Bosma coffee shop family is almost in Maassluis. With the knowledge and experience there they hope to open a successful location in Hoogeveen, where only weed can be collected.
Entrepreneurs in the Grote Kerkstraat have reservations about this. They mentioned earlier that they find the street not suitable for a weed tent. They fear the deterioration of the neighborhood and are afraid of nuisance.
And those worries grew a little more after the owners announced about five hundred to a thousand people a day. “But if the store is just open, that number will still be around 250 people,” adds Rob Bosma.
It will be a case where cannabis can only be collected. Starting a pretigaret on the spot itself is not allowed. “And what if people decide to do that on the nearby terraces? There is a lot of hospitality in the street,” a visitor asks.
According to Bosma, practical experience shows that people take it 9 out of 10 times to a quiet place to smoke. “Inside the case there are also information boards, in which we show people that they should not smoke here in the street.”
The staff will also pay attention to this and maintain. According to the entrepreneur, that must prevent a piece of nuisance. For example, there was also looked at Groningen and coffee shops near Terrassen or it causes nuisance there.
