Hoogeveen comes with a letter and website about sustainability

Residents of the municipality of Hoogeveen can soon expect a letter from the municipality explaining how the energy bill can be reduced. The municipality is also working on a website.

“Inhabitants of Hoogeveen will receive a door-to-door letter outlining the options for making their home more sustainable,” the mayor and aldermen said to the city council. “There will also be a clear reference here to the website of Groenemorgen Hoogeveen, which will go live before the letters are sent.”

This website, which has been in the works for years, also draws attention to schemes for associations and institutions. In addition to energy, the site also focuses on themes such as waste, greening gardens and recycling.

VVD, SP, D66 and PvdA came up with a proposal for a door-to-door letter in mid-February, which a majority of the council agreed with. According to the parties, not everyone knows which subsidies can be applied for, while there are various options. The aim of active information is to make Hoogeveen more sustainable and to reduce costs for residents.
