The first guest designer of the upcoming 108th Pitti Uomo has been determined.
Homme Plissé Issey Miyake will participate as a guest of honor in the Florentine men’s fashion fair, as the organizer Pitti Immagine announced on Wednesday. The SS26 collection of the diversion line of the Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake will be unveiled in a still secret place on June 18.
“We have hoped to combine the name of this important Japanese brand with our event for a long time. Today we are pleased to finally share a long -awaited announcement: Homme Plissé Issey Miyake will be the guest of honor of the Pitti Uomo 108,” explains Raffaello Napoleone, CEO from Pitti Immagine.
The invitation to the brand is a sign of recognition and appreciation of the quality, creativity and originality of Miyake’s work and at the same time underlines the current creative orientation of the label, according to the official press release. The design team successfully managed to reinterpret the quiet, elegant magic of the late founder. Issey Miyake himself died in August 2022, but his creative team has taken over the artistic direction seamlessly since then.
“We are grateful for this opportunity to present our work at one of the world’s most renowned men’s fashion events,” said the design team for participation in the Pitti Uomo in Florence. The upcoming collection is inspired by Italy’s trips, the designers revealed.
As a guest of honor of the Pitti Uomo in Florence, Homme Plissé Issey Miyake joins a prestigious list: Previously, labels such as Marine Serre, Fendi, SS Daley and Maison Margiela presented their collections during the men’s fashion. The next edition of the Pitti Uomo will take place from June 17th to 20th.
