Top scorer Isac Lidberg brought the Darmstadt residents on course with his goal in the 37th minute. Fraser Hornby made the final score shortly after the change of sides (48th).

“It was certainly not our best performance today”said Hornby afterwards at the Sportschau microphone. “But we still got the next important victory, at home without conceding a goal. That shows how much character we have. Of course we are very satisfied.”

There was an extra praise for the Scots from Darmstadt coach Florian Kohfeldt. “He has shown how important he is for us in the past few weeks. He is the organizer of our pressing, with his intensity. I am extremely happy for him that he also scored his goal today.”

Dresden only brave, but then with a serious blackout

The Dresders performed without respect at the leaders, in the first half hour the team with the much more offensive play area. A blackout then brought the guests back: Niklas Hauptmann played a very carefree pass in midfield, Marco Richter intervened and sent the ball exactly into the alley on the Lidberg started – the Swede scored his seventh play in the seventh second division game.

Darmstadt striker Lidberg and Hornby in front of the gate ice cold

Immediately after the break, the Dresdeners could get themselves again from the fast Darmstadt switching game: This time Killian Corredor was the preparer with a steep pass on Hornby, Darmstadt’s second striker remained just as ice cold in front of the goal and gave Dynamo goalkeeper Tim Schreiber no chance.

After the second goal, it was a very way back into the game for the guests. The Dresdeners tried to continue to set offensive accents, but only opened the Darmstadt-based spaces: Hornby (57th) and Lidberg (60th) had further great opportunities to make the result even higher, Dynamo keeper Schreiber saved twice. The game was still decided.
