In the context of several investigations by the West Flemish department of the Ghent Labor Audit Office into social fraud among self-employed home nurses, a legal action took place on November 17 under the leadership of a Bruges investigating judge. During the action, the West Flemish federal judicial police (FGP) carried out several house searches in the Houthulst area in collaboration with the RIZIV inspection services.
The investigators independently arrested home nurse Stefanie Sander (42), but also her mother, her partner and an employee. Eleven luxury cars, six expensive motorcycles, luxury goods, real estate and cash were also seized during the searches.
