Holstein Kiel prematurely extended the contract with midfielder Nicolai Remberg originally expired in 2026. This was confirmed by the storks on Thursday, without dealing with the new term at the 24-year-old.
In the summer of 2023, Remberg moved from the then third division promoted Prussia Münster to the fjord and in his first KSV season was a part in the first Bundesliga promotion. “Nicolai is a prime example of our way,” said Kiel’s sports director Carsten Wehlmann. “He is a young, talented player who always shows great commitment and has developed excellently since the change in the summer of 2023. (…) We are convinced that his positive development has not yet been completed and are therefore very happy that he will continue to appear for Holstein Kiel in the future. ”
Remberg, which has increased its market value since its change from 350,000 to 1.8 million euros, is also one of the top performers. Until his yellow lock at the 3: 4 in Munich last weekend, he played over 90 minutes in the central or defensive midfield.
“I have settled in the north since I switched from Münster and I feel very comfortable here,” said Remberg. “In my first season, I was able to celebrate the historical climb with the club and I am very proud to continue to be part of this team. I thank the person responsible for the trust they have placed in them and want to bring my strengths in the best possible way in order to be successful with the club. ”
