Rutter switched from FC Stade Rennes to TSG in February 2021 for just 750,000 euros, where he has since increased his market value from 1.5 to currently 16 million euros. The France U21 international has made 64 appearances to date, in which he has contributed 11 goals and eight assists – this season he has contributed five goals. In January last year, TSG extended the contract with Rutter until 2026. “He is one of the most promising talents in European football, whose further development the move to Hoffenheim gave a strong boost,” said Hoffenheim manager Alexander Rosen at the time.

TSG has already signed a replacement for Rutter with the only winter signing to date: Kasper Dolberg (25). The Dane was presented as a reinforcement immediately after the turn of the year. Dolberg is on loan from OGC Nice at Hoffenheim until the end of the season and can be signed thanks to a purchase option.
