With Uli Hoeneß, trouble has once again accumulated – about the reporting of the past few weeks. At the end of the season he cleared this clear.

Uli Hoeneß took a breath of his anger at the FC Bayern season end celebration in Munich Zenith. In view of the ongoing discussions about player transfer and secondary locations, the honorary president of the club reacted unusually.

A reporter had asked him about the Personalie Florian Wirtz. The Leverkusener is repeatedly associated with a move to Munich. Hoeneß reacted irritably: “What should I tell you now?” And pushed after: “You wrote beautiful crap for weeks: he goes to Manchester City, he was in Liverpool. We will provide you with facts at some point – and not with further speculation. You are responsible for that.”

Even in the case of Leroy Sané, the 73-year-old cleared his displeasure with reporting. The background is a rejected range of contracts by the wing player, which had triggered speculation about a farewell (you can read more about this here).

Hoeneß made it clear: Sané did not say that he wanted to leave the club. “Why do you always make speculation?” He asked. Decisions should only be discussed when they have been made. “When he goes away, we’ll say something about it.”

Hoeneß addressed additional criticism to media reporting for a trip to some Bayern players to Ibiza. It is “typical of the condition of our media”. It is hardly about football anymore, instead everyone is the focus. “And you have to question yourself whether this is what the viewers want to hear, read and see,” said Hoeneß.
