HLN RESEARCH. Nothing ordered, but suddenly a Zalando invoice of 1,000 euros: Bert, Joeri and Karin fell victim to ‘swiping’

A sweater from Lacoste, underwear from Calvin Klein, shoes from Nike. Bert suddenly received an e-mail from Zalando with a whole laundry list of ordered items of clothing, worth around 1,000 euros in total. But he hadn’t ordered anything at all. Bert turned out to be the victim of ‘swiping’: a new form of theft that our research cell discovered. Bert and two other victims, Joeri and Karin, tell what happened to them and how difficult it was to do something about it: “Zalando even sent a collection agency to me.”
