Hitting the road on Sunday morning? Watch out for slippery conditions due to icy conditions

Although we say goodbye to the winter weather on Sunday, people who take to the road that morning should be careful of slippery roads due to icy conditions. After the frost, an area of rain or drizzle arrives in Brabant, which can make the road surface slippery. Later in the day and on Monday, there is a chance of heavy gusts of wind due to the arrival of storm Isha.

It will still freeze two degrees locally on Sunday night. It will rain in the morning. When rain hits the road surface, it freezes and forms black ice. Rijkswaterstaat and the KNMI therefore warn of slippery conditions in the morning.

Isha
In the afternoon there are temperatures of four to six degrees in Brabant. During the afternoon hours, storm Isha is heading towards the Netherlands, causing the wind from the southwest to increase. At the sea the wind will blow hard with wind force 6 or 7. Inland, a wind force of 5 is expected.

Meteorologists believe the storm will be at its worst on Monday morning. For this reason, a busy Monday morning rush hour is expected.
