Historic medal for Haarlem gymnast Loran de Munck at European Championships

Turner Loran de Munck from Haarlem has written history. He was the first Dutchman to win a medal in the vaulting event. He took silver.

De Munck scored 14,700 points with an exercise with the highest difficulty. European champion was the Armenian Harutyun Merdinyan with 14,733. Bronze went to the German Nils Dunkel, who set a score of 14,633.

For the Haarlemmer it was his first major medal and that immediately earned him a medal.
