Cardi B feat. Megan Thee Stallion – “Bongos”

Colorful bikinis, unusual feather hats and perfectly fitting choreography on the beach in Malibu. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion spared no effort or expense in the music video for their new single “Bongos.” The singers shelled out more than two million euros to ensure that their production remained secret. “In Malibu there’s always paparazzi and stuff, so we hired like 20 guards to watch the whole area,” Cardi B explains to radio host Angela Yee. The film was directed by Tanu Muino, who previously helmed Harry Styles’ “As It Was” and Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”

Nura – “A good woman”

With her new single, Nura makes it clear what it means to be “a good woman” in a world dominated by men. The rapper uses her voice to express in her lyrics what is unfortunately reality for many women. “Violence, sexual harassment, sexism, misogyny,” to name just a few of the themes included in the trigger warning at the beginning of the music video. In it, Nura appears as a teleshopping housewife who raps feminist lyrics while chopping vegetables.

“A good woman listens to her husband (yes, yes) / She can learn so much because he can do everything (aha) / He makes the lesbians straight again because everyone needs a cock / If she doesn’t want to fuck, then she can he ran anyway.”

Badmómzjay feat. Kool Savas – “Airplanes”

New beat and new lyrics, but the quintessence of the song “Airplanes” by BoB featuring Hayley Williams remains. German rapper Badmómzjay samples the 2010 track together with Kool Savas. Together they sing about a reality in which one or two shooting star wishes can be used, and they dream of an ideal world without racism, homophobia and sexism. The music video for the song was directed by Roman Romacher.

“Let’s pretend we’ve defeated racism / And the cop won’t pull his gun / Let’s pretend it’s finally all about the music again / Like it finally doesn’t give a shit who you love”

Casper – “real from below / zoé freestyle”

Casper comes “really from below”. In his new single, the rapper talks about a childhood that was marked by violence and lack of money. His drastic words are accompanied by clear piano tones. The beat changes as Casper talks about his current life. In the accompanying music video he stands in the middle of the Bielefeld Schüco Arena, where he will play his largest solo concert to date in 2024. His new album ONLY LOVE, ALWAYS will be released on November 24th.

“What do you know about cockroaches in the closet? / In the trailer park, stepdad screams at me / Hits with coat hooks, burned in / I’m lucky I don’t have his name.”
