The manager of the Lieberg reports that chlorine was released during technical maintenance. That happened around 10am.

Twenty people evacuated

There were about twenty people in the pool at the time, but no one became unwell. According to the Fire Department spokesperson, De Lieberg employees acted quickly and well, allowing the swimmers to change clothes quietly before leaving the pool.

The fire brigade responded with several vehicles. Enforcement is also present to regulate traffic. Part of the roadway of the Jan van der Heijdenstraat has been closed off so that the fire trucks can be parked there. Later in the afternoon a specialized company will arrive to remove the chlorine.

The pool will remain closed today, but the manager hopes to reopen tomorrow.
