This is evident from documents that Het Parool has accessed following the lawsuit against H. in Luxembourg City. Last week, H. was sentenced to 8 years in prison, of which six years are conditional, for planning an attack on the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam.

In November 2019, H. had produced enough nitroglycerin to make dynamite, for a bomb that, according to his plans, should go off at a Hilversum substation and on the A27.

Multiple intended goals

The Swedish H. worked with a Dutch accomplice, together they had several targets in mind for an attack. In addition to the Eurovision Song Contest, the substation in Hilversum and the A27, they also looked at the Swedish parliament, an architectural firm and an ‘installation of the European Community’, according to Het Parool.

The lawsuit showed that H. already had the explosives ready. The judge therefore thinks that H. was at an advanced stage to implement his plans in the Netherlands. According to the judge, H. is the leader of the Green Brigade, which has been labeled a terrorist organization by England and America. This organization is based on National Socialism, which glorifies Adolf Hitler.

The Dutch accomplice was questioned by the Dutch police in September 2020, where he indicated that he never had the intention to actually commit attacks and that it would only be about ‘jokes’. The Public Prosecution Service has dismissed his case.
