A compost bin and some conifers caught fire in Meppel last night. That happened at the Werkhorst.
The flames rose meters high and the fire created a lot of smoke. Firefighters extinguished the fire and managed to prevent a nearby wooden shed from catching fire.
The cause of the fire appears to be compost heating in the bin.
