This is how Göran Stubb commented on the headlines of the Helsinki club in recent days, or rather weeks.
HIFK is an important club for Stubb, although he has not been involved in its operations for decades.
Stubb, chairman of the HIFK ice hockey division between 1961 and 75, made the team down the razor to three times the champion. He may be described as the most important individual as the creative of HIFK.
So Stubb is not quite anyone to comment on HIFK in recent weeks.
Harassable
This week alone, HIFK has been in the headlines of two big stumps.
The second is a case of harassment. The Finnish Sports Massage College said it would decide on HIFK, as the masseurs had met several times while working on a men’s hockey team.
HIFK eventually published an apology for the case.
Stubb emphasizes that he only knows what he has read in the magazines. Based on this, he says a strong opinion of what has happened.
– It is absolutely absolutely unacceptable if this really happened. There is no place for such activities.
Female hockey is business

On Wednesday, HIFK announced that he had not applied for a place in the women’s Auro League for the coming season.

– Economic realities should be recognized. If the audience is less than one hundred per match, it is not currently economically viable. It is great that HIFK has done a lot in front of the female hockey, but the economic boundaries are nowadays, Stubb says.
– I hope HIFK will continue to operate in a girl’s hockey, Stubb adds.
Indeed, HIFK has announced that it will continue its women’s hockey. If the license terms with the Aurora League cannot be turned into a liking, Stadin’s Gimm continues in the women’s Mestis.

Below the news of the last few days, it is only a buried season of HIFK’s Men’s Representative Team Disappointment.
The playoffs ended with the first round. SaiPa Lappeenranta took the series purely 4-0.
“One team was flying on the ice, the other stood like a mud,” Stubb describes the series.
Stubb raises the team’s age structure as one problem. The HIFK Puhti was simply not enough against SaiPa.
– Mistakes have been made. Otherwise, the situation would not be. Hopefully, HIFK’s athletic side would be made clear now, Stubb says.
So what are the reasons for weak performances?
– Maybe leadership is the biggest problem. Again, I remind me that I have not been dealing with HIFK for over 30 years, so I’m not inside the club, Stubb says.
– There are certainly a lot of good people in the club, but I don’t think one who would take overall responsibility for all this. HIFK would now need a leader type that would take the ropes and start to take the company firmly forward.
Stubb sees many things at HIFK currently in good shape. However, they do not appear in the rink.
– If HIFK’s sports side were as good as the market side, it would be a big club. At the moment, however, HIFK is not one. Unfortunately.
According to Stubb, recent news on HIFK has been unfortunate to read.
– There is a bad time at the moment. But that’s what it’s in life. There are ups and downs in turn. Hopefully this would now be the wave from which HIFK would go up.
