Hertha’s top goal duo planned Paderborn’s goals in the weight room

No joke, early strength units ensured Hertha’s victory against Paderborn.

Cross from Fabian Reese (25), shot from Haris Tabakovic (29) – 1-0 (11th). At 3-1 the same picture, Reese crossed again, this time Tabakovic pushed the ball over the line with his body (54th). Hertha’s new goal duo then celebrated from the east curve.

It is no coincidence that the two offensive players get along so well. They planned the goals in the weight room beforehand!

Reese: “We harmonize very well, it’s fun with him on and off the field. The two of us are always together in the gym relatively early and we agree on who will occupy the spaces on the court. It’s all the better when it bears fruit on the weekend and results in goals and assists.”

This also pleases Haris Tabakovic, who has already scored nine goals after ten second division games: “The victory was extremely important for the entire team, especially after last weekend. The offensive game worked very well, a striker has to be fed. I depend on my teammates and that’s why I’m very grateful that Fabi served me well twice.”

Coach Pal Dardai (47) is also enthusiastic about his attacking duo: “Haris was well served by Fabi. Such goals are particularly important for a goalscorer. And with Fabi you can tell every second that he proudly wears the flag on his chest.”

Reese and Tabakovic are Hertha’s guarantees of victory. Paderborn coach Lukas Kwasniok also had to acknowledge this without envy: “The Reese-Tabakovic combination killed us.”
