Hertha coach Magath travels to Darmstadt as an observer

Berlin (AP) – Felix Magath followed Hertha BSC’s regeneration training in the morning in a leisure look.

The head coach of the Bundesliga soccer club made his way to Hesse before the end of the practice session to watch the second division game from Darmstadt 98 against SC Paderborn (3:30 p.m. / Sky). The lilies are a possible opponent in the relegation.

The training session was led by Magath’s assistant Mark Fotheringham, who will travel to Hamburger SV’s game at Hansa Rostock in the afternoon, Magath confirmed. HSV is also a possible opponent for first division membership.

Hertha had slipped dramatically to the relegation rank after a 2-1 draw at Borussia Dortmund and VfB Stuttgart’s 2-1 win over 1. FC Köln. On Thursday, the Berliners initially have home rights, four days later the second leg follows in the third division of the second division.

Marcel Lotka was absent from training. The goalkeeper had to be examined because of the suspicion of a slight concussion. On Saturday, just before the end of the first half, he hit the post with full force, but was able to continue playing to the end. Veteran Kevin-Prince Boateng was released from training because of “private issues”.
