Hertha BSC wants to retain a trio of talents

In the future, the Bundesliga soccer club Hertha BSC wants to increasingly rely on talents from its own youth. A trio is said to have been banned from changing.

The 4-1 win against Borussia Mönchengladbach last weekend gave Hertha BSC a sigh of relief. With a point ahead of a direct relegation zone, the old lady ranks 16th after the win.

Three homegrown players played a large part in the success over Gladbach. Jessic Ngankam (22), Marton Dardai (21) and Derry Scherhant (20), who each contributed a goal.

Ngankam equalized Gladbach’s lead through Nico Elvedi in the 17th minute after half an hour. Dardai scored his first Bundesliga goal on his 21st birthday (52nd). And Scherhant made the decision with his debut goal in the upper house (90+1).

The trio could now have a reward. As reported by “Sport Bild”, Hertha Ngankam, Dardai and Scherhant have not only given a ban on switching for the coming summer.

According to the report, the Hertha bosses are even considering extending the contracts that run until 2025.

Hertha apparently wants to get rid of potential buyers with the project. According to “Sport Bild”, the trio is already on the list of other Bundesliga clubs. RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt have already put out feelers to Dardai.

Hertha plans in the future with defensive talent Gechter

Dardai went through all teams of the Hertha youth. The son of ex-coach Pal Dardai has already played 33 times for the pros.

Ngankam last gained match practice at Greuther Fürth, but returned to Hertha in the summer. After suffering injury problems in the first half of the season, the 22-year-old striker has played in the last five games.

Scherhant only made his breakthrough with the pros this season. Six Bundesliga appearances have been booked so far.

According to the report, Hertha BSC wants to rely on defensive talent Linus Gechter again in the future. Born in Berlin, he is currently on loan at Eintracht Braunschweig and should be part of the Hertha squad again this summer.
