Here’s a subway flying – production of a new series started in Berlin

Twelve test cars are built

The crane is still going high. But at the end of the year, the new subway trains will go underground.

Stadler started production of the new series on Friday, just in time for the 120th birthday of the Berlin subway. First, twelve test cars for large and small profiles are built in Pankow.

The first vehicles are to be delivered to BVG at the end of the year. BVG board member Dr. Rolf Erfurt: “With the modern vehicles, we will soon be able to significantly rejuvenate our fleet and, in a few years, also put even more power on the rails than today.”

Among other things, 42 kilometers of cables and lines will be installed in each train.
