He added: “There was no reason.” Freese was grateful for his time in the band. But also admitted to being “shocked and disappointed” about the decision. Nevertheless, he kept his sense of humor. The 10 alleged reasons for the expulsion of Josh Freese
This list appeared on Monday, May 19th Instagram. And contained reasons as silly as: “Has ‘my hero’ whistled” for a week on tour, “could only call a song by Fugazi” and “didn’t even try to grow a beard”.
As far as his contribution to the expulsion is concerned, Freese joked that his “metronomic precision behind the drums was perceived as ‘soulless'”. And that he asked that every rehearsal should begin “with a 20-minute cowbell sound bath”. Another possible source of voltage: “polyrhythms”, joked Freese.
Promise to Noodles – a new guitarist?
Elsewhere, the drummer joked that he once missed a studio session “because Mercury declined”. That he “refused to appear if an Ouija board and Nunchakus had not been guaranteed after every show”. And that he promised Noodles from The Offspring to become the fourth guitarist of the Foo Fighters. (“But you promised it!”, The real Noodles joked in the comments.)
But the main reason for his dismissal, Freese joked: “The whole poodle thing was slowly getting a little too much.” (In fact, Freese is its many pawns very contracted.)
Foo Fighters do not comment on separation
Freese Was at Foo Fighters for about two years . He pushed to the band in May 2023 to fill the gap that Taylor Hawkins’ sudden death had left the year before.
