Sinterklaas does not visit every child. Many Zoetermeer residents cannot afford the expensive holidays, so Santa Claus drives past their house. Fortunately, people do Sintvoorieder1 their best to change that. And you can contribute (or give a gift).

Every year, the people behind the Sintvoorieder1 foundation deliver thousands of gift packages to just as many children. In Zoetermeer there is a special campaign in November to collect as many gifts as possible for this cause.

Packing all year round

All year round, volunteers from Sintvoorieder1 wrap gifts for children of all ages. With Sinterklaas they receive a gift package with chocolate, a book, toys and a poem. In 2024, a record 121,500 gifts were collected for children across the country. This year’s goal is to put together at least 25,000 packages. That requires 100,000 gifts.

Donate gifts

During a special promotional week from November 17 to 21, you can drop off gifts at the CKC building in Zoetermeer (between 9 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.), Balijhoeve petting zoo in Rokkeveen (between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.) and De Weidemolen petting zoo in Oosterheem (between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.). You can also hand in gifts at the Village Square during the Sinterklaas arrival on Saturday, November 15.

The gifts are intended for children between 0 and 18 years old. These must be new or unused and have a maximum value of 25 euros. You don’t have to wrap the gifts, because the volunteers from Sintvoorieder1 are present at the CKC to make festive packages.

Curious about how the volunteers of Sintvoorieder1 pack at the office in Voorburg all year round? Editors from indebuurt also helped once and it looked like this.

We found out much more for you…
