Not so long ago, a cheerful Henny Vrienten thought he would make it. That was a few months after he announced that he was ill in September, a day before his last tour with Doe Maar would start. Details were not shared, but that something was seriously wrong with the bassist and composer, the right listener could conclude from the fact that tickets sold would not be valid until better times for him, but that the promoter would refund the money.
