Henkjan Smits can suddenly be seen on television this summer. He is a regular guest of the Talk Show Good evening Netherlands and Victor Vlam does not understand anything at all. “Tiring!”
Apparently the guest pool from which the Netherlands can still fish out is getting smaller and smaller. Every talk show now claims its own exclusive guests and then of course there is not much left. And so Sam Hagens and Welmoed Sijtsma, the most ambitionless talk show couple in the Netherlands, have to do it with someone like Henkjan Smits.
No X-Factor
This summer we see Henkjan showing up at the WNL talk show and TV connoisseur Victor Vlam as a viewer is not at all happy with that. “This week Henkjan Smits was there for the thousandth time. Really the thousandth time. It is very often in the program. Who knows why, but it is at least the case.”
He continues in the podcast Victor explains TV: “And then he started talking about sailing songs as a result of Sail. Well, then I really have the idea: it’s time to go to bed, it’s fun, but I’m going to switch off now, because I don’t feel like this. If someone has little X-factor, then it is the jury member of X Factor for years.”
Tiring
Henkjan is simply not a pleasant TV personality, says Victor. “I always think it’s a tiring man to listen to. Anyway, that’s my personal preference there.”
What else can the Netherlands change in the Netherlands? “I think that good evening the Netherlands could improve the score by removing that bar at the bottom of the image, because you see all the topics on it and then you often see what the last subject is.”
Not interesting
That bar is really a gone, Victor concludes. “I notice that when I see that the last two topics are not interesting, I am already putting away from that program.”
“That bar at the bottom of the picture, I think it costs a bit of viewers here and there in the margin. On the one hand it is nice for some viewers and on the other hand: it is not that handy technically, I think.”
