Helmond Sport takes first win, Willem II beats ADO Den Haag

Helmond Sport has finally won in the Kitchen Champion Division and how. It was 3-0 against the visiting Almere City FC. Willem II recorded an important victory: 1-0 against ADO Den Haag.

FC Eindhoven dropped points for the first time in this competition: 1-1 at NAC Breda. FC Den Bosch seemed to be going to stunt for a long time against the visiting PEC Zwolle, which, like FC Eindhoven, had won four times in a row until this Friday. However, it became 1-2 in the Vliert.

Helmond Sport – Almere City FC 3-0

What a luxury for Helmond Sport: scoring three times and winning. The goals were scored by two newcomers: Martijn Kaars (2) and Hakon Lorentzen (1).

Willem II – ADO The Hague 1-0

Both teams are looking for promotion. Yet the first half of this match, which on paper could be called a topper, was hardly to watch. The fans of Willem II had forgotten that in the 53rd minute, when it became 1-0. Michael de Leeuw, who returned to Brabant, scored via ADO player Tyrese Asante. It was also the only goal in the Koning Willem II Stadium in Tilburg.

NAC Breda – FC Eindhoven 1-1

Club top scorer Odysseus Velanas gave NAC Breda the lead. That was after 4 minutes. FC Eindhoven then showed that the team of Rob Penders (once a valued defender in Breda) is difficult to beat. Ozan Kökcü restored the balance before half time and that was it.

FC Den Bosch – PEC Zwolle 1-2

If a team had the most claim to three points for a long time, it would have been FC Den Bosch. The home club was insufficiently rewarded with the 1-2 against the Zwolle leader. The first two goals came within the first fifteen minutes. Dean Huiberts opened the scoring for PEC in the 5th minute. His teammate Thomas Beelen scored an own goal in the 12th minute and that meant 1-1. Thomas van den Belt decided the game in favor of PEC five minutes before the final whistle.

FC Den Bosch coach Jack de Gier received a yellow card for the umpteenth time. He could hardly stomach the winning goal. Nor was the home crowd any reason for referee Richard Martens to stop the meeting for a while.
