Uefa drew the first groups of the upcoming summer women’s EC tournament in Lausanne on Monday.

It was undeniably a success for Helmari, because Finland made it to the easiest quartet, together with host country Switzerland, Norway and Iceland.

– As far as I can remember, this is the first time after a draw that I can say that I am satisfied. Of the blocks, that is clearly the most athletically suitable, head coach Marko Saloranta quoth.

The management of Pallloiitto was also happy with the draw result. The overriding feeling was, of course, relief. Now Finland has a realistic chance to progress to at least the top eight.

More reasons for joy came when Uefa said that the prize money of the EC tournament had increased by as much as 156 percent compared to England’s 2022 tournament.

In total, 41 million euros are distributed. Helmarit has already secured a participation fee of 1.8 million euros. On top of that, 100,000 euros are added for every win in the initial group stage and 50,000 euros for draws.

Helmarie’s head coach Marko Saloranta believes in Finland’s next place. PDO

Naturally, in an “easier” block, they are more likely to snap than against the super countries of the sport.

– The next place is realism, but it is still an extremely hard goal. And we will certainly chase it tooth and nail, Saloranta continued.

– There is no weak team in this tournament.

Naturally, the prize amounts increase as the tournament progresses. According to UEFA’s calculations, the future European champion can net a maximum of around 5.1 million euros.

According to the umbrella organization’s instructions, 30–40 percent of the prize money paid to the association must be directed to the players. The share increases to around 35–45 percent in those teams that advance to the playoffs.
