The Finnish women’s national football team played a 2–2 draw against Slovakia in their Nations League match on Tuesday.

Finland got a dream start to the match. Emmi Alanen took Helmarit into the lead in the second minute of the match. The home team scored the next two goals, but Jutta Rantala’s story the equalizer in the 70th minute of the match guaranteed Finland a draw point.

It was the Helmareite’s only loss of points in the B League of the Nations League, which has now ended. Finland won its previous five matches by clear scores without conceding a goal.

– We were a bit begging for blood from the nose. Slovakia was free to throw the ball into the box, where we defended well. The second period was already clearly better, head coach Marko Saloranta said after the match to Yle Urheilu.

Finland won the group with 16 points. Croatia finished second in the group with nine points.
