Residents of Walcheren were startled on Thursday morning by circling helicopters. Many residents took to social media to ask what was going on.
The Defense Helicopter Command has announced that it is an exercise. During a ‘Hostage Release Operation’, exercises are carried out in the liberation of imprisoned Dutch citizens in enemy territory.
This ‘enemy area’ was mainly in the vicinity of Grijpskerke this morning. A Chinook, Cougar and Apache helicopter were used for the exercise.
