Hélène Hendriks settles the matter with the Volkskrant reviewer who has expressed strong criticism of her program De Oranjezondag. “I’m actually not allowed to use first names anymore, are I?” she says.
TV critic Siem Buijsse has lashed out at Hélène Hendriks in the Volkskrant. He thinks her talk show De Oranjezondag is very bad incrowd. According to him, there are always the same faces at the table, who effortlessly complement each other with well-known jokes and predictable opinions, making it feel more like a drinks table full of friends.
Us knows us
He sees the fact that Hélène now only has to announce her guests by first names as proof of that closed, know-us atmosphere. Does she care about that criticism? Nothing at all.
“Welcome to De Oranjezondag!”, she shouts in the broadcast from yesterday. “It’s great that you’re watching and great that you’re all here! Rutger, Ben, we finally meet again! Guido, Nicky and a newcomer: Abel (from PowNed, ed.)!”
First names
Hélène then scoffs at the criticism of her. “Yes, I’m not allowed to use first names anymore, right? I have to use first and last names. There was a column in the Volkskrant and it said: ‘No, you shouldn’t do that anymore.'”
Table guest Rutger Castricum sarcastically: “Yes, otherwise we would be a drinks club.”
Hélène: “I got hit pretty hard.”
Rutger: “And no more tompouces!”
Renewal
Hélène then promises to get better. “A bit of innovation. Well, we thought about that today.”
She also indicates that she is looking for ‘new recruits’ for the World Cup Football specials of her talk show. “It’s going to be a problem, isn’t it? Three broadcasts in one day that we have to fill up completely!”
The Oranjezomer will be shown three evenings a week during the Football World Cup, from Friday to Sunday. Today Inside provides broadcasts on the other days.
