Hélène Hendriks is somewhat done with Pieter Omtzigt: ‘Confused story’

Hélène Hendriks is a bit fed up with Pieter Omtzigt. She watched the politician’s appearance on Humberto Tan’s talk show and has two words for it.

Pieter Omtzigt has let the formation collapse and many people still don’t understand why, even now that the leader of NSC provided explanations about this last night in Humberto Tan’s talk show. A lot of people looked at it – 924 thousand curious people – and they were left confused, just like Hélène Hendriks.

Messy story

It is unclear to Hélène, the biggest female TV star of SBS 6, why exactly Pieter ended the formation talks. She dedicates it X two words: “Confused story.”

Jack van Gelder, her regular TV buddy, then says: “Plasterk apparently showed the four parties financial documents (too) late. Omtzigt should blame the informant for this and not the three other parties. This argument is indeed weak, confused and cannot be the truth of the (temporary) resignation.”

Rude and cowardly

Omtzigt’s behavior rubs many people the wrong way. “And reporting to the informant with a text message that you are now stopping (perhaps for the time being) is rude and cowardly,” says Jack.

It also surprises many people that Omtzigt does not speak to the other party leaders personally, but does participate in a talk show. “And the House of Representatives is once again informed through the media. No report yet, nothing. The old Omtzigt would not have liked this,” said journalist Kim van Keken.

Not consistent

Merel Ek, star reporter for Today Inside, also finds that strange. “Omtzigt always says: ‘It should not go through the press, but through the right route.’ So it is not entirely consistent with what he always preaches in Parliament.”

Her colleague Sam Hagens is annoyed that Omtzigt hardly speaks to the press. He stood for bacon and beans at the exit of the talk show Humberto. “If you don’t feel like asking questions after a talk show, let the taxi drive as close to the door as possible.”

No excuses

RTL Boulevard star Rob Goossens finds Omtzigt’s excuse that the finances are disappointing bizarre. “That’s why we voted for him, right? Corpses out of the closet, trying to start with a clean slate. And those disappointing figures are an excellent excuse to make one of his most important promises – cutting the civil service – possible.”

Journalist Ton F. van Dijk: “It remains strange to run away because of something that affects all four parties equally. Hard to follow.”
